What is your choice for your home, would it be a rod iron fence and gate or would it be a white picket fence and where would you be having it installed, in the front yard or the back yard or all around your entire home; this would also chance on how the design is with your residence. But if it is in a typical home you would more than likely have one installed in the front yard area which is a very aesthetic and will enhance your beautiful home; and if you have some wonderful and expensive landscaping you might want to get some professional advice from an expert. Because if you have a very historic looking home it might look a lot better with an antique iron look to it versus have a plantation type of home that would be complemented with a wonderfully sculptured white picket. Enjoy fixing up your home and let the children do it as well because twenty years down the road you will look down at that little chunk of cement pour to hold up that post and see that little hand or foot print with their name and date on it and it will without a doubt bring a tear and a ping in your heart; with each moment you capture the sight of it out the window at that huge willow you can visualize them as they were planting it, and that is what makes a home.
